Presently Consultant Ophthalmologist at Caribbean Vitreous and Retina Surgery Ltd. since January 2020
Worked at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS trust, in the UK for 12 years as a Consultant Ophthalmologist.
He has served as the Clinical Lead for the Wirral Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Programme.
Kumar was a trainer at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Microsurgical Course for ophthalmic trainees.
With an active interest in education, he participates in meetings as guest speaker, chair and in advisory role.
He is actively involved in clinical governance activity within ophthalmology, providing support as a coach and as an appraiser
Kumar has over twenty-five peer reviewed publications and has made over 50 oral, poster and video conference presentations and has participated actively with education programs for family doctors, Optometrists, and others.
He has participated in NGO work in Myanmar, Kenya, Trinidad, India and UK
