Eye health and Vision have widespread and profound implications for many aspects of life, health, Education in children. Paucity of Eye health experts with accessibility across India poses a mega challenges in Driving Nation in betterment of Vision for Children.

NECT for Government school children have concocted project Nayonika Child Vision which been a successful model in State of Karnataka serving over Million Children and been Scaled across India from South to North.

3 Major Components constitute to hamper Vision in children:
1. Awareness

Majority of Children studying in Government schools were never been screened for eye health and so we came with Idea of serving each and every school with self eye screening tool Nayonika Vision Wall.

Nayonika Vision Wall been installed in all Government Schools and pre screening been rendered by School Teachers. Belgaum district in Karnataka witnessed huge impact with all 4200 Government schools of the District been installed with Nayonika Vision Wall and 6,75,000 children were screened for eye health for the first time.

2. Refractive Errors

6-8% of Children would be identified with Refractive errors and they all need spectacles to be able to have better vision. Children identified with RE would be served with Free Spectacles and Project has supported with free spectacles in districts of Bellary, Belgaum, Bidar, Koppal, Dharwad and Bangalore till date.

Success of Belgaum district been Scaled to 10 Districts of Karnataka state in synergy with Department of Medical Education. Project would be supporting 50,000 spectacles every year to these 10 Districts.

Districts supported: Bidar, Gulburga, Yadagiri, Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Tumkur, Madekeri, Chamrajnagar, Mandya. Project will be serving 2.8 Million children of Karnataka state from these 10 Districts.

3. Paediatric surgeries

1 in every 1000 children needs Surgery and Project in synergy with Minto Ophthalmology,Bangalore able to conduct over 400 Free Paediatric surgeries and success been scaled to 13 centres across India from Kanyakumari to Kashmir benefitting over 2300 Free Paedetric Surgeries across India.

Project Locations: Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Bhopal, Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi, Rohtak and Punjab.
