COVID – 19 Support with over 2,75,000 Masks

Backgound:

The COVID-19 pandemic is “profoundly affecting” peace and security across the globe, The health pandemic is fast becoming a protection crisis.  “Our challenge is to save lives today while buttressing the pillars of security for tomorrow.”

The risks are diverse, Trust in public institutions is eroding in places where people perceive that authorities have not addressed COVID-19 effectively or been transparent about its impact. 

Solution:

Wearing a mask, Social Distancing and regular hand wash been a best method and Nayonika eye care charitable trust supplemented supreme efforts of Government of Karnataka with masks to various sections:

  • Health Department
  • Police Department
  • Underprivileged sections namely:
    • Garment factory workers
    • Street vendors
    • Auto Drivers
    • Transgenders
    • Daily wage workers
    • Rural pockets
    • Urban Slums
    • Truck Drivers

Achievements:

  • Over 1,00,000 N95 Masks been distributed to Front Line workers Namely health department and Police Department
  • Over 1,75,000 Cotton and Surgical masks been distributed to underprivileged sections of the society
  • Over 10,000 Gloves, Face Shields to Health workers across Karnataka
  • Over 50,000 Meals to Health workers
  • Ration Kit to Health workers ( ASHA Workers )
  • Setting up KIOSK to conduct Covid testing.
